You will get a campus tour, rehearse with the band, and perform at our Men's Basketball game against our conference foe, NC A&T State University. The tenor sax section is a supportive and welcoming family. We get to know each other not only in the Marching Panthers but outside in social settings. We hold sectional meetings, rehearsals, and even just hang out and talk. We want to welcome YOU to our family!

The flutes of the Spirit of HPU Band just want to have fun while performing great pump up jams for any crowd! We hope to have YOU join this spirited, enthusiastic team. We have brief weekly sectionals in order to strengthen our bond as a section, to better our skills as musicians, and to collaborate on dance moves/movements within the music. Students should join the Spirit of HPU Bands because it is a great way to show school spirit and pride, make friends, have fun, and play your instrument. The Spirit of HPU Bands helped create the most meaningful friendships I have at HPU. I wouldn't trade the opportunities and experiences I have had through the Spirit of HPU Bands for anything!

I was hesitant in my decision to join the HPU Pep Band. Though, once I spent some time with all of the Pep Band members, I found a tight knit family of students and instructors. When you join the HPU Pep Band not only are you going to have fun making music but you are going find friends who are always willing to help you through your academic year.
Joining the band is a great opportunity to meet new people and be part of a musical community. It is a fun way to get involved on campus as we support our fellow students at athletic events.

Not only is the SOHPU Band a fun, spirited environment in which you get to perform pump up music with friends - the SOHPU Band also serves as a personal stress reliever. Participation in this band gives you the opportunity to escape from class stress, test anxiety, and study rooms in order to take a break to make great music and to just scream at games and have a blast.
